barefoot
It happened in 2005, some friends from high school and I had planned a trip to Izalco Volcano. At the beginning everything was ok; everybody was on time and ready to take the bus number 209 to Cerro Verde Park where would be our first stop before arriving to Izalco Volcano. Before starting climbing Izalco Volcano, we met a man who told us that it was dangerous climbing the volcano at that time because there had been some thieves who were robbing anyone who get there. We didn’t care what the man warned us and we thought it could be more exciting if we face a situation like that one. Since our main goal was getting until the top of the second highest volcano in El Salvador, we kept on our way. After some minutes later, we found a group of friends who were drinking some beers and cautioned us again that it was better not climbing the volcano because it was hazardous doing it. Nevertheless, we didn’t pay attention and continued walking through the paths of some hills to reach the volcano. When we started climbing the volcano, a man who was hiding behind some enormous rocks appeared and let us know he wanted everything we had. Therefore, he took our food, our money, our backpacks, and some jewelry of my girl friends, etc; including my pair of shoes which I had recently bought. Then, a friend of mine told the thief let go the girls because they were really scared; so he answered that if we continued talking, he would kill some of us with his automatic shotgun. Thus we didn’t had no option than give him everything we had. After he took all from us, he left and told us we could go until we hear a shot; but we didn’t listen anything and we left as soon as possible. As the thief had robbed my shoes and my friend’s, we had to walk barefoot for a long distance until we reach a house where lived a friend of us. When we got our friend’s home, she lent us some shoes in order to go home. As we got the road, we ask for a ride until El Congo city because nobody had money to pay the bus; at the end, everybody arrived home safe.
Eric,
ReplyDeletewhat a freaky experience you went through. Usually we do not pay attention to people´s pieces of advice. I think we humans are always tempted to do forbidden things, and it gets more our attention when most of the ones around us suggest avoiding them. I have always wondered why we are so attracted to events that will obviously hurt ourselves.
Thank God you and your friends did not suffer serious damage. Hopefully you have learned the lesson to listen to people when they are taking you away from pain or any other negative event.
Regards,
Wow!!! What a story Erick you always are in troubles…. Well I think we as humans have some part in our body that tells us what to do or what is better to do in some situations that we face in life, but as human beings we also have a high level of curiosity so when things are prohibit to us we tend to do them more easily because of the same reason we want to taste them. So Erick you should have listened carefully to the man’s pieces of advices because if you should have done so you all guys would have been ok I mean you would not have lost your things and imagine something really serious could have happened there, just remember when someone older than you says something about something just sleep on it!! Because that person may be right or if you take care of what he/she says you can avoid many problems let’s say. And please Erick behave well…..
ReplyDeleteThis is Mary =)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL????? Wow Eric you are truly a survivor. I know that we men don't like to ask for directions or listening to some advice someone can tell us... Anyway, we must listen at least once in our lives. But what a story man! Honestly, I have never lived one like that and i think that you did what you wanted and that is good! In some way... I just have to say you did the right thing in giving to that son of a doggie for your own sake and your friends' too. Furthermore, thank God you didn't die. That's all man so take care and if you go out to dangerous places remember to take a gun with you!!! I MEAN IT.
ReplyDeleteBlessings dude!
Man... I know what it means. I have walked barefoot from the Laguna Verde, Apaneca until Ataco.
ReplyDeleteThe police officers usually go with the tourists; nevertheless, we don't look for their support. We think that their company is going to annoy our duties, however it is better to enjoy with them than suffer a tragedy.
Next time call the police!!!
