After finishing this class, I felt satisfied since I
knew this was my last teaching with this group and I had struggled for
developing a good instruction with these students. Even though this is just the
beginning of my last Teaching Practicum, this is also a big step in my
development as a teacher. During this class, I carried out a hot potato game
related to “Rituals” vocabulary. The
students had to take a piece of paper containing concepts and definitions from
the paper ball when the music stopped. Later on, they had to match the concept
with its corresponding definition.
Then, I
encouraged the learners to talk about rituals they carry out during different
activities. Some of them expressed some examples about what they do before
studying, eating, drinking, going out among others. Some others talked about
the rituals they had seen in other cultures and other societies. Next, I asked
them to work on some exercises from the book about collocations regarding
present and past habits. Subsequently, I gave them some pieces of papers
containing some situations related to habits they used to do when they were
children. As a final point, I encouraged them to expressed their ideas about
they had discussed with their classmates. In this way, I’m done with my Advanced
I teaching practice!!!
I think everybody sees each class as a challenge. There is something new we are going to learn each day, so this teaching practicum has been as you said a step for growing up as teachers.. We all are expecting to get to know the new group we are going to work with!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd we must be ready for the new groups because remember each group is different so we should not expect to get the same attitude or the same enviroment, so lets work hard and lets do our best in our next step!!!
