I began my last teaching by
introducing the new unit about “Sports”. First, I divided the board into two
parts and requested the students to form two lines. In each part of the board,
the students formed in the lines had to write the name of a sport one by one. Then,
I counted the correct sports’ names and the group with more right names was the
winner. Subsequently, I presented the new unit by asking the learners if they
practice any sport; also, I asked them what they do to keep in shape, what
sports they like the most, among others.
Next, I asked them to complete a chart about sports
and famous sportmen/women that practices the sports they wrote on their
notebooks.
Examples:
sport famous sportmen/women
soccer Lionel
Messi
tennis Roger
Federer
After this, I formed pairs and
gave them some questions so that they could practice orally issues about health, dangerous sports,
benefits of practicing sports, how often they exercise, etc. To end the class, I
asked some pairs to share their opinions about the questions they talked about.
It seems to me that you taught a very nice class. I liked the warm up activity because it was a very dynamic activity in which you had them exposed to vocabulary related to sports; besides, it was a good way to introduce a new topic. It´s nice the way in which you had them practicing in the oral and written form.
ReplyDeletethe topic is nice. I think student felt nice when carrying out all the activities you prepared for them. the could even comment on the sports they practice and what they do to keep in shape as you said in this entry. so good job man!!
