In this class I started my last period in my teaching
practicum. As it is normal, I felt kind of anxious because of the new students I had
to meet; nevertheless, it was a nice class. First of all, I began greeting the
students and talking with them about the end of the semester, about Christmas,
and other things they have planned for the new year.
Then, I continued
with a game related to Present Progressive with Future Meaning, in which I showed
some pictures to the students so that they had to describe the pictures to
their representatives that were at the front; after the representatives guessed
the pictures, they had to say a sentence using Present Progressive with future
meaning. Everybody had fun while learning and they enjoyed the game.
Next, I introduced
the topic giving some examples about the structure regarding Present Progressive
with future meaning. I like the fact that they were very participative when
explaining the topic and that situation helped me to give a better explanation
about the content. After that, I gave the students some fill in the blank
exercises in which they had to write the correct form of the verbs given.
Subsequently, I asked
the learners to form 3 lines so that they could classify some leisure
activities I had written on the board. Everybody did it well and learned new vocabulary
related to the activities. Next, I finished my class with some role plays in
which the learners had to present short dialogues according to the leisure
activities they had classified previously. At the end I was glad because they
were very collaborative and participative during the whole class!
